In a technology leadership role today, it’s easy for every conversation to become about AI.

A few months ago, we set up an Extended Leadership Team (ELT).

Over time, it quietly drifted into becoming just another review forum.

That realisation made us pause. The real intent was never reviews.

It was about building the next cadre of leaders - people who share a broader vantage point, who represent the whole Digital and IT (DIT) function rather than just their own area.

Yesterday was different. We spoke about things that sound simple, but are often the hardest to practice:
• Delegation
• Focusing on the ‘why’
• Driving organisational outcomes
• Leading with empathy

Couple hours of just open conversation. No decks. No review. No updates.

And sometimes that kind of discussion energises more than an entire week of work.

More to come!
